Is It Time?

Most pet owners often know when their pet’s end of life is approaching. They’re really starting to slow down, and they’re struggling more and more with their daily movements. Many older pets also suffer from debilitating or incurable diseases that cause pain and discomfort.

When you first contact us about pet euthanasia services, we will start with a phone consultation and pre-euthanasia consultation if needed. If you aren’t sure the time is right, we can discuss your pet’s quality of life. This includes their overall health condition and signs of pain. We suggest euthanasia over letting an animal pass on their own so that they can be surrounded by their loved ones in their final moments. Unfortunately, dying naturally is often preceded by long periods of anxiety and suffering. When your pet’s quality of life has diminished to the point where they are no longer living a life that they were once enjoying, making the decision to euthanize is a kind way to say goodbye.

If you aren’t yet ready to consider euthanasia,

we can try to give you the time you need to come to terms with the decision with palliative and hospice care. Though we can only do so much, these treatments will alleviate the suffering of your pet for a while to ensure their comfort.

In the end, no one knows better than you do when it comes to saying goodbye.

We can offer guidance and information about their medical state, but ultimately the decision is up to you. Our philosophy when it comes to our furry companions is quality of life over quantity.

Willed Body Donation For Aftercare

If you are interested, please inquire about W.A.V.E.—“Willed deceased Animals for Veterinary Education”—at Western University of Health Sciences Veterinary School in Pomona, CA. This program, similar to human body donation programs at medical schools, allows your pet to contribute to veterinary education and training.

After the study concludes (approximately two years), your pet’s remains will be cremated according to your wishes. For pets under 60 pounds, owners have the option to have their ashes returned at no cost. Additionally, owners may choose to receive a memorial fur clipping and/or ink paw print. Please note that clay paw prints are not available for donated pets.

If interested, please contact us to confirm if your pet meets eligibility requirements and to complete the necessary paperwork. To learn more about the W.A.V.E program, visit the Western University of Health Sciences website.
