No one knows better than you do. I’m here to offer guidance, but ultimately leave the decision up to the pet parent. I am a firm believer in quality of life over quantity. Please review the Quality of Life Assessment and feel free to call or email if you need more help making an informed decision.
Providing in home euthanasia is invaluable. Many pets find it stressful, painful, and frightening to travel to a hospital in the last moments of life. I don’t think there is a better way to pass than peacefully in the comfort and privacy of your own home surrounded by your loved ones. Most pet owners who experience in-home euthanasia say they would never do it any other way.
Losing a pet is never easy. Many owners put off the decision to euthanize in hopes that their pet will pass on their own. Dogs and cats are very stoic and great at hiding signs of pain and we usually don’t discover their discomfort for quite some time. Unfortunately, dying naturally is often preceded by long periods of anxiety and suffering. When your pet’s quality of life has diminished to the point where they are no longer living a life that they were once enjoying, making the decision to euthanize is a kind way to end your pet’s suffering. Compassionate euthanasia is one of the greatest gifts we can give our beloved pets.
We allow the owners to guide how the appointment goes. Some owners find it comforting to talk about the pet and others like a quick procedure. Each situation is unique. Please see In-Home Euthanasia for more information of the step by step process.
Yes. I encourage you and anyone else to be with your pet during their final moments. However, if you are overcome with grief, it is ok to leave the room if you prefer.
A Pet’s Farewell services the Orange County and Long Beach areas. Special arrangements can be made outside of these areas.
We are available for weekday, weekend, and evening appointments.
How far in advance do I need to schedule an appointment?
We understand that some things cannot be scheduled and do our very best to accommodate your needs. Please call us at 949-375-7908 to discuss scheduling and availability.
With regard to at home euthanasia for your pet, one of the most important issues is timing – it is extremely important that you feel in your heart that it is exactly the right time to say farewell to your beloved friend. If you need to cancel a scheduled end-of-life appointment with very short notice, we understand, and we will gladly reschedule with you as often as necessary.
Cash or check preferred, but Visa, Mastercard and Amex are accepted as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. A Pet’s Farewell is honored to provide in home euthanasia for pets and owners in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Tustin, Long Beach, and the surrounding areas.
