In-Home Euthanasia

Most pet owners often know when their pet’s end of life is approaching. They’re really starting to slow down, and they’re struggling more and more with their daily movements. Many older pets also suffer from debilitating or incurable diseases that cause pain and discomfort.

In-home euthanasia means that they get to spend their final moments relaxed in their home, surrounded by loved ones.

How Will I Know It Is Time to Say Goodbye to My Pet?

When you first contact us about in-home pet euthanasia services, we will start with a phone consultation and pre-euthanasia consultation if needed. If you aren’t sure the time is right, we can discuss your pet’s quality of life. This includes their overall health condition and signs of pain. We suggest euthanasia over letting an animal pass on their own so that they can be surrounded by their loved ones in their final moments.

Unfortunately, dying naturally is often preceded by long periods of anxiety and suffering. When your pet’s quality of life has diminished to the point where they are no longer living a life that they were once enjoying, making the decision to euthanize is a kind way to say goodbye.

In the end, no one knows better than you do when it comes to saying goodbye. We can offer guidance and information about their medical state, but ultimately, the decision is up to you. Our philosophy when it comes to our furry companions is quality of life over quantity.

If you aren’t yet ready to consider euthanasia,

we can try to give you the time you need to come to terms with the decision with palliative and hospice care. Though we can only do so much, these treatments will alleviate the suffering of your pet for a while to ensure their comfort.

Arrival

Our doctor will meet your cat or dog and talk with you about the procedure. At this point, we’ll answer any questions you may have. Some people prefer to know as much as they can about the process, while others do better with less information. We suggest having your little companion on their favorite spot in a well-loved room. This helps ease their anxiety and provides a warm and comforting environment for their passing.

Sedation

We don’t want your pet to be in any discomfort or feel any stress during the process. The doctor will give a sedative to your pet that will put him or her into a comfortable rest before proceeding.

Euthanasia

After your pet is sedated, and you are ready, the doctor will administer the euthanasia solution. They’ll listen to your dog or cat’s heart and will let you know when he or she has passed. This is a peaceful, painless process for your pet.
